Your manually operated garage door can be secured in several ways. Here’s a short run-down of some options:
Standard Roller Door Lock
The standard method for roller doors is a central, key-operated lock with horizontal locking bars that slide through slots in the door tracks.
Always remember to remove the key before opening the Roller Door so your key doesn’t break off in the lock as the door goes up.
Xtra-Lok
For enhanced security, consider the Xtra-Lok, which anchors the bottom of your door to the concrete slab. This lock uses a padlock, and we recommend a disc lock for best results. Xtra-Lok is available with both internal and external fixing options.
Shoot Bolts
Shoot Bolts can be fitted either internally or externally to the bottom of the door to anchor it through the tracks. You can use one or two - the choice is yours.
Slide it across, secure with a padlock and off you go!
T-Handle
T-handle locking mechanisms are suitable for your manually operated tilt, sliding, or sectional garage door, as well as your personal access door.
This concludes our overview of basic garage door locking systems. While this list covers common options, many more are available. If you don't find what you're looking for, we can source it for you.
